Roy and Vera were children of Tom Shipman (aka T. D. Shipman) and Thanie Askew.
The parents married Dec. 11, 1900 and both were of Durant, OKlahoma.

Application was made in Oklahoma July 19, 1906 for Vera and Roy Shipman for enrollment as citizens by blood of the Choctaw Nation. It was denied as of Oct. 23, 1906 by Commisioner Tams Bixby at Muscogee, Indian Territory.

The appications for a Carl Hefner, and 4 Askews were also denied at the same time.
