Hi Karen: I`m sorry but the only person kin to me that I know of being part Cherokee is My Grandmother Blanch Fisher married to Homer B SHIPMAN. Her Mother was 1/2 Cherokee Indian so that makes my Mother 1/4 Cherokee and my GGGMother was full blooded. The others I know of is just what people have sent to me and what was passed down the line just like your Grandfather has done for you. Sorry I can`t help you other than what I have posted. I`m very familiar with your John SHIPMAN and Susannah Holt but do not know of any Cherokee Bloodline therein.

Susannah HOLT was the dau of Thomas ( b. 1778 PA) and Ann ( b. 1782 SC) HOLT according to Leslie Wright SHIPMAN but Loranna GRAY has her as Susannah CYPERT born in ILL

She was buried in the Plesant Hill Cem Independance Co Ark:
Shipman, Susan M. B. Sep. 18, 1814 D. May 10, 1873 AGE: 58 Yrs., 5 Mos., 22 Days. NOTES: Wife of John.

Joe
