Hi I am also searching for George C(Carlyle) Shipley. My grandmother Lucy Loren Shipley Foster had applied for membership to the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865. The letter she received back states that his records do not find him listed as George Carlyle Shipley but as George C Shipley. Grandma Foster was the only daughter of Benjamin F Shipley son of George C Shipley & Mary Hanley Thompson, I have more on Mary's family but nothing on George's parents. I would appreciate a clairification on your mention of whom you believe his parents were. Thank you. Vicky
