tracing the king surname from my shinnick family.my grandfather michael king born 1915 died 1979 was fostered by the shinnick family in carlton victoria.his mother mary king born in ireland 1896 came to aus 1913 she also had another son in pentridge prision 1920 frank king.on my grandfathers foster home paperwork it had marys father as john king and mother deceased and that she was going to stay at an aunts house in east melbourne by the name of ellen(nee mccabe)doyle,ellen married patrick aloysius doyle in 1886 victoria.ellen parents were mary sefton and patrick mccabe.I think john kings brother was martin frederick king who married margaret mary shinnick.martin frederick kings parents were william james king and catherine kelly.it was told the shinnicks never fostered any children unless they were family.my shinnick family come from decendents of catherine sinnet and edward shinnick.
