Deanne, I can give you a little info about William, son of James A. Shingleton. He married Ellen Caroline (Callie) Faulkner, born in Washington Co., Ill. They married in Jackson Co., Ill. in 1892. They had 3 children; Wyman, b. July, 1894; Angeline, b. Oct. 1896; and Gilbert b. May 1901. Gilbert died about a month after birth and Callie died a few months later. Wyman and Angeline were taken in by sisters of Callie. Angeline was adopted by Etta (Faulkner) and her husband, William Williams. She married a Rev. Paul Smith. I found Wyman on the 1930 census in Marion Co., Ill. I have not found any more about either of them, and I know nothing more of William Shingleton, whether he re-married or moved away from Southern Illinois.
