Howard, Sr. of 114 Jacob Shingleton was born 2 Jul 1840 in Duplin Co., NC. He was the son of Aretus (Retia, Wreat, Rhetus, Retis) Shingleton and Elizabeth "Bet" Wood. He married Sarah Sanders on 11 Mar 1869 in New Hanover Co., NC, and died in Pender Co., NC on 29 Apr 1906. I'm looking for the parents of Aretus Shingleton and Elizabeth Wood.
