John Shingleton-VA Colonial Militia

Does anyone have information on a John Shingleton who was listed in Hennings Statutes (sp?) as being a sergeant in Sept, 1758 in the Virginia Colonial Militia? He was from Cumberland Co, VA. I'm just curious. I'm trying to somehow tie together all the Shingletons that were in the area in the latter 1700s.
