From What I had gathered in visiting and corresponding with distant relatives at Bunner's Ridge, "One of my ancestor's wife's didn't like the connation of Bonar "eg Boner" and had it changed to Bunner. There are other variations of Bunner that I had run across. Some were Bonner, Brunner, Breunner, ect.
