I do not know if we have a connection or not but my G-grandfather, Willam Shingler, was born in the village of Forest, Genesee county, Michigan in November of 1868.According to his birth certicate his parents were Samuel Shingler and Ester (Gillette?).Samuel was a farmer who was born in New York and Ester was born in Michigan. Is it possible that William's father Samuel is Henry's son?
Also, I found a listing in the Michigan Genealogical Death Indexing System for Henry Shingler who died on 7-Nov-1870 in Forest, Genesee county. He was married, was 52 years 11 months 21 days old, died of Dysentery, was born in "Canada West", his occupation was carpenter, his father's name was Wm. Shingler, and his mother's name was Cornelia Carpenter.
If you think we have a connection or have any other information on the Kent county Shinglers (I live in Kent county) please post a reply or e-mail me directly.
