I have some information you need.I did some research at the Greenville-Butler County public library. There is a book "Oakey Streak A Historic Landmark" written by Fern Sulphin Nix.Ms. Nix is still alive. In this book is a treasure trove of information you seek.It states in one recollection:"Three Shine brothers came to America from Dublin, Ireland about the year 1710, among those was Daniel Shine.THis Daniel Shine married Elizabeth Greene, May 15th, 1715 in Craven Vounty, North Carolina.Their sixth child was also named Daniel Shine, born May 10th, 1729, married Barbara Franck, daughter of John Martin Franck. He left a Will in Jones County, North Carolina, Will probated in 1801 (Jones County was made from Craven County) mentioned the following children - Polly, Shackleford, John, Susanna Wilton, Hannah Farnell, Daniel, James, Frank, and John Shine, our ancestor, fought in the Revolutionary War.Daniel Shine mentioned two grandsons, Daniel Whitaker and James William Shine, sons of John Shine.John, born on May 15th, 1759, married Clarissa Williams, date not known."I think you might be able to get what we all need in Joned County, North Carolina.I will try to look into it as well.I have been to Oakey Streak (one hour from here in Montgomery).I would like to talk with you at your convenience. If you would contact me, I would appreciate it.My email is [email protected].
