Hi there are a lot of Shier's in the Brock twp area of Ontario Canada. My husband who is a St. John is related to some of them as is also my cousin who is a Sparling.

There is also a www site on the internet for Shiers.

They are called Palatine Irish and orginally came from Germany to Ireland to North America.
