Since you didn't capitalize anything in your query, I read it a couple of times before I decided you're working a family named Shields that areconsidered "Texas giants."
Well, don't know if your husband is related, because you didn't give his name, or the names of any of the Shields in his family.
You might want to give some Shields names, dates (or approximate dates) and county/counties where they resided in TX.
I checked on your previous postings, and found the mention of Buel Shields.
Combined info from TX Dth Idx Online and SSDI:
Buel Edward Shields, b 4 Dec 1915; d 6 Nov 1983 Dallas Co, TX; last residence and benefit paid - Dallas, Dallas Co, TX; SS card issued in TX.
His death certificate should show the names and birth locations of his parents. This might get you back far enough to see if they are related to the "Texas giants" of the book by the same name.If not, then track down death certificates on his father, and that should take you back another generation on Shields.Have you looked at the books mentioned in the Shields query you responded to?
Have you looked at the Handbook of TX Online?Type in Shields and click on Search.Up will come 71 items, they will also include such as the town of Shields and Blue Shield insurance, but there will be lots of short bios on historical/prominent people of Texas named Shields.Look at the bottom of each of those bios, the source -- usually a book -- is given. This should give you lots to research.
