Sometimes, I think the "family stories" get confused as they travel through time.
1.We know there was a John Shick 1726-1797 from GA, who was captured in Charleston and lost his arm in the Rev. War.
2.We know that he had a daughter, Elizabeth Susannah, who was a marriageable age during that time.
3.There was a John Shick that married Margaret Ritter in Savannah.
4. There is a John Shick buried at Laurel Grove who died in 1834, age 75, born in Savannah
5.There is an obituary listing for Winneford M. SHICK who died in 1833 at the age of 78.
6.There is a notice for the estate of John Shick Sr, listing: Margaret Shick, Frederick Shick and George Shick as administrators in 1800.(Maybe John (d.1797) had 2 wives, Mary and Margaret, and his estate wasn't probated for a couple of years.)
7.The will of Frederick Shick (1804) mentions his brother, Peter.
I don't know, but I think it merits looking at wills and court records, if they exist.
