Mary M. "Polly" SHEW was born 17 May 1821 in Wilkes County, NC, died 8 Jun 1896, and is buried in New Goshen, Vigo County, IN. She was a daughter of Daniel SHEW, born 3 Jan 1782 in Guilford County, NC, died 15 Mar 1862 (age 80y, 2m, & 12d), and is buried in the Old Brick Cemetery near New Goshen in Vigo County with his wife Eve Dorothy YORK, born 15 Oct 1792 in Randolph County, NC, who died 29 Sep 1858. Daniel was a son of Philip SHEW who died in Wilkes County, about 1832. Eve Dorothy was a daughter of Henry YORK and Margaret LENDERMAN.

Hiram MARLEY was born about 1828 in Randolph County, NC, and died in the Civil War in 26 Jun 1863. He is buried with his wife Mary in Fayette Township, New Goshen, IN. Mert MARLEY has done a lot of work on this line, and noticed a new headstone, which implies they had children, but so far they are unknown. Hiram was one of 9 children of Alexander MARLEY, born abt. 1788 in Randolph County, NC who died 22 Dec 1845 in Winterset, Madison County, IA, and Sarah (and/or Jane) YORK, born about 1784 in NC, who died abt. 1842 in Morgan County, IN. Mary and Hiram were cousins as both of their mothers were from the YORK family.

I am interested in any children, and have more information on both lines.
