I noticed that there was a previous question in this thread asking about the parents of Mary Josephine Dawley (my grandmother spelled it Dolley. She said it was French and originally spelled Dolle'.)
Mary Josephine's father was Devereaux Dawley, born about 1799 in Maryland. He's listed in the 1850 Fairfield Co., Ohio census as Devort Dawley. I couldn't pull up the record, but I know he's in another census as Devorix Dawley.
There's some dispute over Mary's middle name, but I'm sticking with Josephine. She was my grandmother's grandmother, and my mother was named Virginia Josephine, specifically after her ancestor.
