Hi Greg,
Do you know the names of Absalom's children? I have just started research on Miles Sherrell b: c1818 Lincoln Co NC d: 13 May 1868 Jackson Co AL. Married Mary Ann Barnes in 1838 Lincoln Co., witness was an Alexander Ward whom I find living not far from Moses Sherrell, age 40-49 (brother of Absalom?) in 1830 Lincoln Co; Absalom Sherrel
was on the next page.
On the 1840 census I find, on same page,: #18 Miles Sherrill age 20-29 (1811-1820), next: #19 Jefferson Sherrill age 30-39 and #29 Absalom Sherrill age 50-59.Is Absalom the father of Miles Sherrill??? Absalom: 1820 census has a male age under 10 (1811-1820); 1830 census male age 15-19 (1811-1818).
Have not been able to find Absalom Sherrell in 1810. I'll keep looking.
What kind of Military Record are you looking for? War of 1812?
Thanks!
Nicole
