You can look at George & Rosella's death certificate for free at: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/advanced.asp

His indicates his parents were James Sherman and Mary Hughey, both born in Pennsylvania. Her father was Isaac Leslie and that she was born in Rosendale, MO.

One way to find out or confirm the parents' names would be to look at the death certificates of George and Rose's siblings. Their obituaries might list them.

Isaac appears in the census from 1860 through to 1880 with wife Catherine in Andrew County. He had remarried to Margaret McFarland on July 9, 1893.

Unfortunately Isaac's death certificate from 1915 in the above database does not have his parents' names, but he is also buried in the Ebenezer Cemetery.

Again look for Isaac's siblings DC's. The one for Peter Leslie from 1923 (also from Buchanan County, shows his father as Eli Leslie. It doesn't mean Eli was Isaac's father too. I think it is more than a coincidence that a Peter and Benjamin Leslie lived near Isaac and were also born in Indiana (see below).

The 1850 Census shows an Isaac, Benjamin and Peter as the sons of Eli Lasley of White River Twp., Randolph Co., IN. While Eli appears in the in 1850, 1860, 1870 censuses as a Lasley, he appears as Lesley and living in Whitmore Twp., Macon Co., IL in the 1880 census. Here someone working on Eli: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=surface&id=I7617

Eli appears to have married twice in Randolph County, first to Parmelia Hobbs on May 20, 1830 and second to Sophia Sala on July 4, 1850.

James Sherman appears in the 1870 and 1880 census living in Willow Branch Twp., Piatt Co., IL. In 1860 he is in Milton Twp., Jackson Co., OH. In 1850 he is in Greenup Co., KY. Someone else is working on the same Sherman Family: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=artcohan&id=I44014

Some of these records you can look at for free at labs.familysearch.org and Ancestry.com. For those you cannot see for free I suggest checking with your local libraries to see if they have Ancestry or Heritage Quest.
