Since my last posting I have obtained the birth cert of Matilda Jane Hall Sherlock's brother.
Hugh Robert Sherlock was born in Onehunga,Auckland, NZ on 4th Oct 1870. His mother's name is recorded as Matilda McWatters, not Waters. Apparently the name has been recorded either way through the records.
Hugh Robert Sherlock married Ada Mary Child in 1899 in Onehunga, NZ.
Any connections out there?
