Hello,
I'm wanting to exchange information with anyone with connections to Irish Sherlocks from county Antrim.
I'm trying to track down my great grandmother's family.
Her name was Matilda Jane Hall Sherlock born c. 1860 in Belfast, according to her New Zealand marriage certificate.
The certificate says her parents were John Sherlock & Hannah Matilda Waters.
I've been unable to find a baptism or birth record for Matilda Jane Hall Sherlock, nor a marriage record for her parents.
The fact that she has Hall in her name indicates she may be connected to Joseph Hall Sherlock, mentioned in the following will abstract from PRONI -
"32394 The Will of Hugh Robert Sherlock late of Ballyrobin County Antrim Farmer who died 7 February 1883 at same place was proved at Belfast by Joseph Hall Sherlock of Crosshill in said County and Hugh Robert Sherlock (Junior) of Ballyrobin Farmers the Executors."
