Hi David:

I am descended from the youngest of Joseph and Caroline Sherlock's children, Elizabeth. The only children that I knew of were Ellen and Eve whom I believe are twins, Caroline, Martha, Mary and Elizabeth although I believe there is a Phoebe who comes between the twins and Caroline so Edmund, William, Susannah and Aaron are a complete surprise. Joseph seems to have been in Up Marden continually since at least 1841. You will sometimes see Compton in the IGI records as that is where the church is situated. Elizabeth and her husband seemed to spend their whole lives in Compton and are at the same address from the 1861 census until 1891. Thomas died at sometime before the 1901 census but I haven't yet tracked the exact date of death down. Elizabeth was still living in the same cottage.

Can you tell me more about the family.

Janet
