Looking for information on marriage of James Sherlock (Shearlock)(Sharlock) and paents of James Lawson. In the 1776 Committee of Observation list for Frederick County, Maryland (Lower Potomac Hundred), James (age 31) is listed with his wife Jeanne (age 39). In 1797 James Sherlock willed land in Montgomery County, Maryland to my ggg grandfather, James Lawson (1775-1845), and named him in the will as "son-in-law" which may have also meant at that time "step-son".
