Hi Mary.

My grandmother is related to the Sherlocks. I was in Ireland this week staying with my granny - Ann Drury (89 years old) - in Monasteraden, next to Lough Gara (very near Gurteen).

Some of the SHerlocks reside in Chesterfield, England - descendents of John and Margaret Sherlock (nee Mulligan) who married on 6th October 1909 in Dover, England. They had 10 children and I beleive they lived in a place called Lumcloon - next to Monasteraden village.

John Sherlock was in the British Marines - 1902-1907.

Their son Thomas Sherlock left Lumcloon and married Alice Brimelow in Stavely, Chesterfield - they had six children.

There was an Edward Sherlock who was born in 1844 and died 1914, he was from Lumcloon.

Hope this may help you in some way.
