There's also a Charles McClain family listed on the 1830 OH census, also in Perry Co., Jackson twp, pg 449:
1 male age 50-60, 1 woman age 50-60
1 man age 20-30
1 girl age 10-15 & 1 girl age 5-10
I presume Nancy Sherlock's husband was the twenty-something guy, and I presume he was named after his dad, the man who was in his fifties on the 1830 census.
I understand that Charles and Nancy Sherlock McClain lived in Hocking Co OH in the 1840s, but I didn't find them on the 1840 Hocking Co census.
