Susan Marie Sheridan, nee Barry, age 45, passed away on Sept. 13, 2009, after a courageous nine-year battle with breast cancer, loving wife of John Sheridan; dear mother of Mícheál, Maeve, and Ciarán; beloved daughter of Richard A. and Mary Joan, nee Collins, Barry; cherished sister of Peter (Sandra) Barry, Ellyn (Carmen) Caruso, and Erin (Tim) Kelly; daughter-in-law of Michael (the late Pauline) Sheridan; sister-in-law of Mary Sheridan, Patricia (Mícheál) Joyce, Michael (Fíona) Sheridan, all of Newport, Co. Mayo, Ireland; dear aunt of Brian and Mandy Barr, Philip, Robert and James Caruso, Shannon, Fíona and Liam Clair, Kevin, Patrick, Thomas and Claire Kelly, Michael, Cathal, Óisin and Cormac Joyce, and Connor, Sean and Hanna Sheridan; niece and cousin of many. A lifelong resident of Chicago's Beverly community, Susan was a graduate of Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School. She earned both her bachelor of arts and master of education degrees at Loyola University Chicago. A former faculty member of Cathedral High School, and Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School, Susan also served as associate director of meeting planning for the American Marketing Association early in her career. Susan enjoyed traveling the world to experience nature and wildlife - from the Little Red Schoolhouse to Door County, and to her favorite remote region of Alaska. Visitation Wednesday 2 to 9 p.m. at Donnellan Funeral Home, 10525 S. Western Ave., Chicago, and on Thursday at St. Barnabas Church, 10134 S. Longwood Dr., Chicago, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan M.
