The Tompkins family have married twice into my family. My father's mother was a Tompkins in Bournemouth, having a boarding house during WW2. Her husband was Arthur (found dead in the shed — from alcohol). John and Norma grew up together until John left for the RAF. Your branch, by chance, is related twice down through the centuries, given the population of Wilts.
