The Tompkins family have married twice into my family. My father's mother was a Tompkins in Bournemouth, having a boarding house during WW2. Her husband was Arthur (found dead in the shed from alcohol). John and Norma grew up together until John left for the RAF. Your branch, by chance, is related twice down through the centuries, given the population of Wilts.

I am in Brisbane at the moment.
