Hi Tom, I was intrigued concerning your information abnout the surname

Hi Tom, I was interested in your information about the name Sherrod "beginning" as Sherar and then Sherrard to Sherrod. My ggg father, William Sherrod, lived in Edgecomb Co., NC in the mid to late 1700's but I can find no connections further back. I feel he must have come from Virginia but cannot trace it. Do you have info on this subject (name change) to share ?? Frank
