Cameron, My ancestor M. A. Davis was born in NC. He was on 1860 census, Ellis Co. Tx living next door to a Shepperd family. If I can read this correctly, L. G. Shepperd, age 44, M. Shepperd, female 35, D. A. Shepperd, male 16, M. J. Shepperd female 14, S. A. Shepperd male 52. In the Davis house next door a Shepperd female child about 6 months old is listed. I can't read all of the writing. The writer has tried to be so fancy, you can't read some of his letters. My question is do your records of the Texas Shepperds identify this family and do you know of a connection between them and Mose A. and Orinda Davis? The information for the families is on page 37 Ellis Co. Tx census, 1860.Thank you. June
