Hi Susan,
I just began our Shepherd genealogy for my Mom-her paternal grandmother was Eva Izora Shepherd, born near Thomaston. Maybe we can help each other. I know little to nothing of our family history!
My Aunt has a family Bible (belonged to Elizabeth Shepherd-Eva Izora's mother) that contains the following information:
Lewis Sheapherd was born Nov 22, 1800 Died Dec 17, 1887
Martha Belinda Ann (Griggers) Sheaphard, wife of Lewis Sheappard, was born Sep 20,1822, Died 5 Nov 1872
Other info. in this Bible:
William W. Sheppard was born April 13, 188?
Evie Izora Shepherd ws born 5 of January, 1883
E__ Shepherd born July 19, 1806
Sarah L. Sheaphard was born March 21, 1855
Barnabas Sheappard was born April 28, 1893
Sarah E. Shepherd was born March 24, 1855
Carolina M. Sheappard borned April 16, 1857
Rebecca T. Sheappard was born Oct 29, 1850
Barnabas Shephard died February 9, 1898
Sarah L. Shephard died June 10, 1914
Evie I. Martin died April 28, 1928
Does any of this look familiar? I hope some of this is helpful. I am trying to connect Lewis but can't find a direct link-maybe he is an uncle...
