Hi... I found everything about your Stephen Shepard...
He was born august 18 1836 in St-Georges-de-Noyan, Henryville, Iberville, Québec, Canada, on the name of Joseph-Samuël Chabot... His parents are Étienne or Samuël Chabot and Marie Granger... In this family, you can find all the person baptised on the name of Samuël as Étienne... Why?? Don't know, but I have all the records that proved that they are the same... He was married on the name of Étienne St-Jean, and had 3-4 child baptised on the name of St-Jean, but they are real Chabot's. Samuel Chabot and Marie Granger was already in Highgate, Vermont, around 1850. They married in St-Jean, Qc, Can... That's why I think they were on the name of St-Jean... After, for the Shepard, the Chabot family was in the Shefford county, in Quebec , Canada.. Maybe that's why they change for Shepard.... Here's the three of Étienne Chabot...
