I am just starting to research my family line and have run into a dead end. I descend from Thomas Hartwell Shepard (b. Amherst ?) and Mary Foulks (b. Monmouth, New Jersey). I have read in some family literature that Thomas Hartwell Shepard's father was a Samuel Shepard & Elizabeth ? of Amherst ?, but can find no further data.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
