On August 25, 2009 I was delighted to receive an email from my paternal cousin Eldon Courtney, not only because I had never had the pleasure of meeting him before, but because of what he had to say. Please read the following excerpt from his message:
"Hi Betty, my name is Eldon Courtney, eldest brother to Max Courtney, but I agree with you wholly as does most of my family."
Eldon is referring to my belief that the man known as Grandpa Courtney to the family, (James L. Courtney), was really Jesse James.
Max Courtney is one of my most adamant detractors.
