John Southall Shelton, born March 22, 1784, married Sarah Boyce in 1804. The wedding notice was published in the newspaper, "The Richmond Enquirer" in March 1807, page 3, column 5. He was the son of John Shelton, died March 31, 1798, who married Ann Barrett Southall. He was the son of John Shelton married Eleanor Parks, son of John Shelton, died 1725, Rural Plains, Hanover County, Virginia.
