For a long time, I was under the impression that John Shelton (1700-1777) who was married to Eleanor Parks, was the son of William Shelton (1676-1734). I have been told, tho, that he was the son of John Shelton who died in 1725 at Rural Plains, Hanover, Virginia.
I would like to know if John (the father who died 1725) was a brother to William (1676-1734). Also were their parents John Shelton (1649-1706) and Jane?
Would also like to know if the following were siblings to John and William and if so what were their birth, death dates: David, Joseph, Samuel, Thomas, Mary, Ann, and Elizabeth.
I have as a possibility the line from John (d. 1725) going back as follows:
