Noah and James M Shelton, Jefferson Co. TN, Patrick Co. VA?

I have been trying to read any messages about Noah T. Shelton of Jefferson County, TN. Am I correct in saying that he is not supposed to be from the Patrick County, VA family?

In his will in 1826 he leaves Zopher Jayne a watch. His inventory has a silver watch listed and also lists that he owed Nathaniel Jayne $2. for blacksmith work, he also owed money to John McFarland, John Ward and James Sollomon. James M Shelton signed the inventory.

Nathaniel Jayne was from Grayson County, VA near the Patrick County line. The family owned land in Patrick County on Stewarts/Stuarts Creek.

This Jayne family had ties to the Critchfield family who were also in Patrick and Grayson Counties (both families were also in Surry County, NC). In 1787 Samuel Critchfield is very close to Heziakiah Shelton.

Palmer Critchfield owned land on Loving Creek, which I see the Shelton's did also, Palmer Critchfield and Robert Jayne owned land jointly on Stewart's Creek. The Critchfield family went to Claiborne County, TN.

I would wonder why he would leave such a gift to Zopher if they didn't have a further connection. The family of Nathaniel Jayne moved away from Grayson County around 1810. Zopher married the daughter of Robert McFarland, who was the father of John McFarland above mentioned.

The Shelton surname appears in the first will book of Jefferson County (I just know it is in the index), it is supposed to be mentioned over 5 times in will book 2.
