seeking the parents of Joseph Shelton, born October 1826 in Grainger Co tennessee. He married Permilia Merritt in 1849 in Knoxville. In the 1850's they moved to Doniphan Co Kansas, together with her parents. Joseph served in the Kansas Infantry during the Civil War. He died in Troy Kansas in 1913. I am his gg grandson, Wilbur Shelton..
