Peggy Shelton Vaughn, 74, Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, went
to be with the Lord on Monday, May 12, 2008 and now is
happy in Heaven with her loving husband Don Vaughn, and
her precious son, Shannon. Mrs. Peggy was a member of the
State Line Baptist Church.
Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and
Mary Bell Shelton; sister, Millie Jones; and brother,
Michael Shelton.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Kathy Dianne Bolton of
Austin, TX, and Tammy Cheryl Absher and her husband Ted of
Kingsport, TN; daughter-in-law, Maggie Vaughn Howington of
Kingsport, TN; four grandchildren, Christy Vaughn Reynolds,
Sheena Marie Craft, Joshua Blake Bolton, and April Amanda
Absher; two great-grandchildren, Cody Brian Reynolds and
Annabelle Brittany Craft; two sisters, Patsy Gillenwater
of Kingsport, TN, and Sherry Robinette and her husband
Bill, of Gate City, VA; two brothers, Dennis Shelton and
his wife Marsha, of Gray, TN, and Ken Shelton and his wife
Pat, of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday, May 15,2008 from 5 p.m. to
7 p.m. at the State Line Baptist Church.
Funeral service will follow in the church at 7 p.m. with
Pastor Boyd Holder officiating. Music will be provided by
the Church Choir and Gail Taylor, Betty Houseright and
Boyd and Sharon Holder.
The interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 in
the Roger’s Cemetery in Yuma. Pallbearers will be Mack
Absher, Garland Burton, Chase Craft, Billy Reynolds,
Jeremy Dickerson, Dennis Shelton & Jim Kerns. Honorary
Pallbearers will be Paul Close and Charlie Lee.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the State
Line Baptist Church Building Fund.
