David Shelton,b. 1776 founder of Shelton Laurel, N.C. was my gr gr gr grandfather. Who do you have as his parents? I've heard conflicting stories of who his parents were. Some say it is James Shelton b. 1726 of Middlesex Co. Virginia and that Roderick is also his son and a brother of David Shelton (1776). Others say Roderick is the father of David? Do you have documentation who David's father was? My line is David Shelton b. 1776, David Shelton Jr. b. 1822 (A Union soldier killed and buried on top of Cold Spring Mountain.)Naomi Shelton b.1862 and
Opal Jennette "Jen" Shelton, my grandmother b. 1889. David Jr and the following generations lived in Greene Co. Tn.
