John E. Shelly (b. 20 Oct 1831, KY)

Can anyone prove that the John E. Shelly buried in New Salem Cemetery in Tippah County, MS (wife is Nancy Catherine Biebers -- they married in Hardeman Co., TN) is the same John Shelly who was a 1st Lt. in Co. K, 2 (Walker's) TN Infantry CSA (enlisted 26 Apr 1861 in Memphis, TN; resigned Jul 1861 at Randolph, TN, supposed to be in St. Louis -- all per National Archive Records Microfilm #268, Roll #120). I am trying to get my husband into Sons of the Confederacy through John E. Shelly.

Thanks for any help.
