Imanita Hall Shelley, Titanic survivor
Well, here we go! I'm searching for anyone who can tell me what became of Titanic survivor Imanita Hall Shelley. Her name is a matter of some dispute as apparently she was travellinhg with her mother, Lucinda Davis Temple Parrish, and the surnames and maiden names don't match. Perhaps Imanita 'Nita' was adopted or fostered..... ?
Anyways, Imanita Shelley was 25 when she boarded the Titanic with her 'mother,' both ladies eventually surviving. Mrs Shelley, who was in 1912 married to William Shelley, was at that time a resident of Deer Lodge in Montana. Her 'mother' was a resident of Woodford, Kentucky.
It appears that Imanita and Mrs Parrish were footloose and travelled extensively. At times they lived in different states, including Missouri, but both eventually settled in Hawaii where Mrs Parrish died on August 7, 1930. Imanita Shelley appears to have moved away from Hawaii and may have returned to Missouri -- perhaps she died there....?
Can anyone fill me in on what happened to Imanita? She is certainly a mysterious old gal!
Mnay thanks
Gavin
