My James Madison Shelly was born 28 Dec 1799 and died 23 Nov 1878 in Marshalltown, Iowa. His parents were Azel(b. 9 Mar 1769) and Judith Carroll Shelly(b. 23 June 1774) of Walpole and Raynham, Massachusetts. Our records say he was born in Westmoreland, New Hampshire, but I don't think that is correct. He was more likely born around Raynham, Massachusetts. His wife was named Lydia or Leyda. We have no more information on her-no maiden name or birth or death information. We have no marriage information. James and Lydia had two daughters named Ann Eliza and Emily Shelly born in Thompson, Connecticut. Do these names sound familiar to anyone?
