Daniel Shell was NOT "their" son, but was the son of Johannes Schell and Catharina Voegeli (Feighley). George Miller was Catharina's third husband and was the father of Mary Polly Miller who married her son Daniel Shell. Polly's mother was reported to be named Katherine also, but, of course, was not Catharina Schell's daughter. Daniel was born about 1780. His father, Johannes died in late 1796 or early 1797. Daniel and Polly Miller were married in 1805, the same year they moved to Tennessee where they founded the community of Shell Creek. Probably Catharina and George Miller were married about the same time and also moved to the Shell Creek community.
I don't know whether there exists a marriage record for Catharina and George Miller, but, in any case, it would have nothing to do with Daniel's lineage.
