Benjamin, Jack, John, Lafayette, and William Shell in Chattanooga in 1892

Just found my William Michael Shell in Chattanooga in 1892 with several other Shells in the same neighborhood and with the same jobs: stonecutters. Surely they must be related. Have never been able to tie my Shells in definitely with others.

William Michael Shell was the son of William P. Shell and Melissa Cupp Shell from Calhoun County, Alabama. William P. Shell was the son of a Mary ? Shell, unknown father. Mary ? Shell was born in Tennessee about 1815 and later married Patrick Cash and later Obediah Sanders. She was living in Calhoun County, Alabama as late as 1880.

Who were these other Shell men in Chattanooga in 1892 and where did they go? None are listed in the next city directory.
