Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Our Samuel Shelby was born 1777, too early for the Revolutionary War and died before 1860 so he would not have been in the Civil War. His son, Samuel Jr. might have been. Samuel might have been in the War of 1812 but I have not been able to find him. I would like to go to Tennessee and look at records but that is not possible right now. Thanks again for your responses.
