I don't know how many of you are aware that Ancestry.com now has copies of death certificates 1909-1975. Searching this has opened up a whole new can of worms for me. I thought I had the Shelby's half-way figured out. HA! HA!
My question for now is this:
Found Death Certificate for Mrs. Elizabeth Shelby Does not give her birth date but says she ise 72 years of age at death on 30 Mar 1926.[Charlotte, Mecklenburg County] My math indicates birth of abt. 1854. Birthplace shows to be Kentucky. Shows living on Lawyers Rd. List her as married to W.H. Shelby, lists her father as Mr. Hill and mother as unobtainable. W.H. Shelby is the informant.
When I go to the census of 1920 [before her death in 1926] the only Elizabeth I can find that fits - is:

Wade H Shelby 63 b. NC
Elizabeth Shelby 67 b.KY
When I go to find Wade Hampton Shelby's death Certificate it shows him living on N. Brevard St. born: Jan 1864[NC] died: 8 May 1927 [Charlotte, Mecklenburg County} Father: Coleman Shelby Mother: Not Given. Wife: Jane Bolick Shelby Informant: Mrs. L.A. Allison.
Can someone please straigten me out here.
