Donald, Do you know any more about Nancey Shehan? She appears to be the right age as my grgrgrgrandmother Nancy whose son John was supposed to be 1/2 Cherokee. Nancy supposedly was a victim of rape by an unknown indian male. John married Samantha Taylor. John was born about 1850. Your Nancey could possibly have been pregnant during the census.
