Anita,

I believe the Edward and Rebecca Shehan you mention in your post are my grgrgrgrtgrandparents. Their daughter Nancy was mother to John Shehan who was Zora Belle Shehan Crisp's father. Zora was my grgrandmother and married to Philip Sylvester Crisp.

Nancy married a Mathis shortly before John was born. John was supposedly the product of a rape by an unknown indian male. The curious thing is Nancy is living with Edward and Rebecca in STecoah on the 1870 census as Nancy Mathis with her children last name Mathis also. Then in the 1880 census she is listed as Shehan as are the children.
I haven't received any documentation yet to tie this all together but hope to have it soon.

My question is about Edward and Rebecca. Do you know anything about their parentage?

I have lots of info on my line from John that I would be happy to share. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Judy Medley
