I think I finally have enough "actually documented information" on the West Sheffield(loosely spelled) from Northampton , NC to Wayne Co., GA. I have also discovered that Sherrod Sheffield Akins, his grandson, did not inherit his property on the banks of the Altamaha River, in Wayne Co. GA. West Sheffield's property was on the banks of the Satilla River. Talking to elderly people of the Akins family, his property was on or close to the Old Post Road. I can't find any information on West Sheffield's daughter, Flora(Floey), and her husband, either a William or Samuel Akin(etc.)I would appreciate any documentation references you have, proving the William or John Sheffields from the 1600-1700's.
