I believe you are referring to Sidney Shiffer or Sheffer, son of Henry A. Shiffer and Prudence Pineo of Will County, Illinois.

I have some information on the family, though no more than what you have on Sidney.

Henry A. Shiffer was the son of James Elliott Shiffer and Sarah Stipe of Pennsylvania. They moved to Illinois. Henry served in the Civil War. I have his obituary. I can't recall but thought Sidney's brother Ross had a son named Clarence?

James Elliott Shiffer was the son of Daniel Shiffer and Sarah Elliott.
