I have traced my family back to Adam Sheffer b.1783 m. Barbara Darr. They had a son Joshua b.1811 d.1867 m. Sara Hart b.1813 d.1890. They had a son Benton Hart Sheffer b.1847 d.1928 m.Lucy Helen Payn b.1854 d.1930. They are the parents of my great-grandfather George Dunn Sheffer b.1878 d.1951 m.Jessie Eliza Newland b.1877 d. 1926. I have been told that our name is from the England Sheffers. If you have any info on any of my ancestors, I would love to hear from you.
