Thank you for your posting on the Shears. How far back are you able to go. James Shears (which I have no information on had a John Shears approximately (14 Feb 1821- 1872. He married Mary Ann Trewartha 30 July 1844. She was born about 1825 and d. Oct-Dec. 1877. They had at least 8 children:
James Shears (b. 1846)
married to Mary Jane Trefery m. 27 Oct 1866
Marina Shears (25 march 1849 Aug. 1897).
married John George Martin 24 Oct. 1866
Mary Ann Shears (25 Jan 1852 - 18 Feb. 1935)
married John George Martin's brother: Henry Martin
Martin H. Shears 23 May 1856
Levinia Shears (2 Feb, 1859 - 1 Oct. 1933)
m. Edmond John Herring
William Shears
Ellen (Helen) Shears (b. abt 1864)
Henry (Harry) T. Shears (May 1868)
They lived in the Cornwall/Devon area and in the 1871 Census they had moved to the Northumberland area and then a few of them sailed to the US in 1880 - Mineral Ridge, Ohio.
Do you have any of these names in your line. Also do you have anything on James Shears and his parents etc.
